Mental Health Awareness

Mental health in the workplace is everyone’s business.  Workers, managers and leaders all have a role to play. 

It’s about identifying what you can do to promote good mental health, support others and importantly, look after your own health and wellbeing.

Employee Assistance Program

The Department for Correctional Services (DCS) recognises that the correctional setting can be a difficult work environment and that from time to time our employees may require assistance. To provide staff and their families with support, DCS has had an Employee Assistance Program (EAP ) since the early 90’s. 

This induction package will provide participants with information on EAP program. 

Injury Prevention

Safety is everyone's responsibility and is key to a workers health, wellbeing and productivity. DCS Injury Prevention branch supports all business units at a corporate level on all matters involving work health and safety. 

This induction package will provide you with information regarding WHS Injury Prevention team's role, contacts, DCS WHS Framework and WHS Reporting system.

Injury Management

The Department for Correctional Services (DCS) is committed to the health, safety and welfare of all DCS employees and other persons in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.

DCS maintains its commitment that any employee who sustains an injury as a result of their employment will be given all reasonable support and assistance to recover and return to safe and productive work.

This induction package will provide participants with Injury Management team contact, support, recovery and return to work information. 

Basic Fire Awareness

This is the Basic Fire Awareness training package. This training package will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

Responding to Workplace Emergencies

The Responding to Workplace Emergencies training aims to provide employers, employees and other persons with the relevant skills and knowledge to respond safely and effectively to workplace emergencies. This course will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Fire in the Prison

This Fire in the Prison training aims to provide DCS Staff with the relevant skills and knowledge to respond safely and effectively to fire within the Prison confines. This course will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
